As a business development consultant, Scott’s responsibilities include identifying, attracting and developing the highest caliber of candidates looking to affiliate as RIAs, and those interested in using Raymond James as a custodial partner for their RIA or Hybrid RIA business.

“I help them be everything they want to be,” Scott says. “That’s part of what makes Raymond James so great – freedom and flexibility to be all you can be in whichever channel you choose.”

Scott joined Raymond James in 2015 from Wells Fargo Private Bank in Tampa where he served as a regional brokerage manager. Previously, Scott was a complex director at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America in the southeastern markets for 25 years.

Scott graduated with a bachelor’s degree in literature from Tulane University in 1981. He is a former board member of the Financial Planning Association.

Scott’s leisure time is spent staying fit, volunteering with Junior Achievement and working in the yard with his wife, Joye.

The New Orleans native and his wife now live in Asheville, North Carolina.
